With India needing just six runs at the start of the 13th over during their chase of 97, Pant executed a remarkable reverse scoop shot. He effortlessly altered his grip, sending a length ball, which was moving past off-stump for a left-handed batter, soaring over the wicket-keeper for a maximum.
This spectacular shot sealed the victory for India with 46 balls and eight wickets to spare, earning them two crucial points in Group A. India’s next encounter is a highly anticipated match against Pakistan, scheduled for Sunday (June 9) in New York.
