West Indies defeated South Africa in 1st T20I

In a fiercely contested T20 encounter, the West Indies emerged victorious over South Africa by a margin of 28 runs. King’s resilient innings of 79 runs, complemented by Kyle Mayers‘ contribution of 34, propelled the West Indies to a competitive total of 175/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a spirited bowling effort from South Africa’s Ottniel Baartman and Andile Phehlukwayo, who both claimed three wickets each, the West Indies managed to set a challenging target.

In response, South Africa’s batting lineup struggled against the disciplined bowling of Gudakesh Motie and Matthew Forde, who also took three wickets apiece.
