Australia Legends shall start their campaign in the Road Safety World Series T20 2022 as they take on Sri Lanka Legends. The Australians had played only one game last year and they would look to make a mark and give fans a peek into their glorious past.  The Sri Lanka Legends were runner-up last year and they would be aiming for a good show and earn their first points of the tournament.     

Australia Legends has a strong bowling attack, and this would be a big advantage for the side. They have excellent hitters of the ball, and they shall look to score quick runs. Sri Lanka has players who know the conditions well and they would like to take advantage of it here. We expect to see a good contest between the bat and the ball in this game.

Sri Lanka Legends Preview

Tillakaratne Dilshan shall aim to make a perfect start to the tournament as they take on a strong opponent in their opening game. The side had done well last year and has fresh legs which would be an advantage. Their players know these conditions well and Dilshan would want his team to use them to their benefit.  

Sanath Jayasuriya and Tillakaratne Dilshan form a strong opening pair and the side would like to see a good start from them in this game. Chinthaka Jayasinghe and Upul Tharanga shall have to do well in the middle order and set up a good platform. The side has good hitters in the lower middle order, and they would expect quick runs from Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana, and Nuawan Kulasekara in this game.  

Chaminda Vaas shall look to pick early wickets in the game opening the bowling with Dhamika Prasad. Nuawan Kulasekara shall look to take advantage of the conditions at this venue and do well in the middle overs with Thisara Perera and Isuru Udana. Australia Legends Preview

Shane Watson would be leading the side for this tournament. They had pulled out of the tournament last year after playing one game due to the Covid-19 pandemic and had lost it against Sri Lanka Legends. Watson would look for a perfect start in the tournament and they have a strong group of players to help them in this cause.  

Shane Watson shall look to lead from the front opening the batting with Cameron White in this game. The middle order is strong for the side with Callum Ferguson, Nathan Reardon, and Ben Dunk in the side and they would look to score quick runs in this game. Down the order, they have good hitters of the ball in Brad Haddin, Brad Hodge, and John Hastings.   

Brett Lee shall look to grab early wickets as he opens the bowling in this game alongside Stuart Clarke. Jason Krejza would love the conditions at this venue and there would be big expectations from him in this game. Hodge, Watson, and Hastings add to the side’s bowling depth, and they would look to do well.  

Weather Conditions

We expect to see clear skies over Kanpur on September 11, and this would make conditions good for batting. The pitch hasn’t been a batsmen’s paradise as the ball has stopped a bit on the surface. We expect another close contest between the bat and the ball where a score of 160 runs would be a good one to defend.

Venue Details

Green Park, Kanpur is a good ground for batsmen who are selective with stroke making. The oddball stops on the batsmen, and the spinners have done well at this venue. The straight boundaries are long and hence batsmen must time their shots well at this venue.

Toss: To Bowl

Defending scores has never been easy at this venue, and we have seen big run chases here in the past. The conditions would be good for batting right throughout the game. The side winning the toss would look to bowl first and restrict the opponents to a small total.

This would make them favourites over Australia in this game.
