Bangladesh faced off against Sri Lanka in the thrilling finale of the three-match T20I series at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. With both teams having secured a win each in the first two matches, the third encounter was the deciding factor. Ultimately, Sri Lanka emerged victorious, claiming the series with a sensational win.
Litton Das’ exceptional run-out reminiscent of MS Dhoni
In a game filled with nail-biting moments, one incident stood out – Litton Das‘ remarkable run-out of Dasun Shanaka. With Shanaka attempting a big shot off the final ball of the innings, it seemed like a potential two-run opportunity.
However, Das’s swift reflexes and precise throw caught Shanaka short of his crease. Das’s no-look flick at the stumps drew comparisons to the legendary MS Dhoni, known for his lightning-fast glovework.

Dasun Shanaka’s cameo sets up Sri Lanka’s total
Before being dismissed in the final ball run-out, Shanaka played a crucial cameo, scoring 19 runs off just nine balls. His contribution, along with Kusal Mendis‘ impressive 86-run innings, propelled Sri Lanka to a competitive total of 174 runs. Despite commendable bowling performances from Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain, Sri Lanka’s batting prowess proved too much for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh falters in run chase, Sri Lanka seals series win
In pursuit of the target, Bangladesh struggled to maintain momentum in their batting lineup. Das, who had showcased his batting prowess in the previous match, fell cheaply to Dhananjaya de Silva after scoring just 7 runs. Hossain’s valiant 53-run knock lower down the order wasn’t enough to steer Bangladesh to victory. Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Thushara‘s exceptional five-wicket haul, including a hat-trick, dismantled Bangladesh’s batting lineup, leading to their defeat by 28 runs.
