HIGHLIGHT – In the CPL 2022 match versus the Warriors, the Guyana Amazon Warriors overcome the Jamaica Tallawahs by 12 runs, despite Brandon King’s brilliant 104 off just 66 balls. Warriors finished with 178/8 in 20 overs after scoring 74 runs in the final 3 overs. Tallawahs’ innings ended in response at 166. With 5 points from 7 games, the Warriors maintain their last-place position in the CPL 2022 Points Table.

After losing 7 wickets for just 100 runs, Odean Smith’s 16-ball 42 and Keemo Paul’s 12-ball 24-run innings provided the Warriors’ total a significant lift. Shai Hope earlier scored a fighting 60 against the Tallawahs for the Warriors.

The Player of the Game was Odean Smith. The wicket was very, very excellent, so Smith stated, “I walked out there and I knew what I had to do. Just stood my ground, kept my base, and smashed the ball.”

Off color Warriors got off to a poor start once more. Before Hope led the comeback, they lost 3 wickets for only 35 RUNS.

Despite this victory, Guyana still has a low point total despite only having played seven games. If they win all three of their remaining games, they will advance to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Jamaica has dropped two straight games.

With each outcome, the playoff race becomes more intriguing.

The remaining five teams are competing for the remaining three berths now that Barbados has advanced. With 9 points from 8 games, the Tallawahs are still third in the standings.
