West Indies and India will lock horns in the second T20I of the five-game series at the Providence Stadium on August 6, Sunday. The hosts started the T20I series on a high note, winning the opening match by four runs at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.

Speaking of the first T20I, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first. West Indies posted a 150-run target for the tourists, thanks to skipper Rovman Powell’s knock. Powell scored 48 off 32 deliveries, including three boundaries and as many sixes.

Nicholas Pooran also played a significant contribution, scoring 41 off 34 deliveries. For India, Arshdeep Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal picked two wickets while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav grabbed one each.

India batters battled by the West Indies bowlers, as they were restricted to 145/9. Tilak Varma top-scored for India, scoring 39 off 22 deliveries. His knock was studded with two fours and three six. Meanwhile, for West Indies, Obed McCoy, Jason Holder, and Romario Shepherd picked two wickets each. Holder, who finished with excellent figures of 2/19 emerged as Player of the Match.

India have to make a stunning comeback in the second T20I in order to stay alive in the five-match T20I series. Earlier, the tourists have clinched the Test series and ODI series, respectively. West Indies, on the other hand, will also eye for a win in the upcoming match to uphold their lead in the series.

Suryakumar Yadav will be one batter to watch out for from the Indian team in the upcoming game, despite his dismal performance in the first T20I. The no. 1 T20I batter has scored 1696 runs from 49 games at an average of 45.83. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh will probably be their key bowler.

West Indies opener Bradon King might play a crucial role in the second T20I. The hosts will most likely rely heavily on Jason Holder.
