TEAMS PREVIEW

Adelaide Strikers Women’s Preview

It has been three wins in a row for Tahlia McGrath’s side, and the skipper would feel confident. The side comes here with a big win against Brisbane Heat Women. This win has strengthened their position on the points table. McGrath shall look to continue with the same form as they take on the strongest side in the tournament.

Deandra Dottin and Katie Mack must build a strong partnership in this game, opening the batting. It has been one of the major weaknesses of the side. Laura Wolvaardt has looked good, and she must anchor the innings in the middle overs alongside Bridget Patterson and McGrath. Madeline Penna and Amanda Wellington shall look to push the scoring rate in the final overs of the innings.

Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt have been bowling well and shared 8 wickets in the last game. They must dismiss the Perth Scorchers’ top order to put the side in a good position Deandra Dottin, Wellington, McGrath, and Jemma Barsby shall have to bowl well, as their inconsistency can be a problem for the team.

Adelaide Strikers Women Predicted Playing XI:

Tahlia McGrath (c), Deandra Dottin, Katie Mack, Laura Wolvaardt, Bridget Patterson, Madeline Penna, Amanda Wellington, Tegan McPharlin (wk), Jemma Barsby, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown

Perth Scorchers Women Preview

Sophie Devine’s side would be pressing for a win against the Adelaide Strikers Women in the next game. The defending champions had to share points with Hobart Hurricanes Women in the last game after rain played spoilsport. Their opponents came into this game with a big win. Devine shall expect a spirited performance from her players in this contest.

Sophie Devine and Beth Mooney have shown good form this season, and they must deliver a good start here. In the middle order, the side would expect runs from the bats of Chloe Piparo, Maddy Green, and Marizanne Kapp. The side has depth in its batting, and they’d expect runs from Mathilda Carmichael, Amy Louise Edgar, and Piepa Cleary.

Marizanne Kapp and Holly Ferling form a solid new ball pair and they will have to make early inroads into Strikers’ batting line-up. Devine needs to lead this attack from the front and the team would have lots of expectations from her. Alana King, Cleary, and Lilly Mills must pitch in with good performances in the middle overs.

Perth Scorchers Women Predicted Playing XI:

Sophie Devine (c), Beth Mooney (wk), Chloe Piparo, Maddy Green, Marizanne Kapp, Mathilda Carmichael, Amy Louise Edgar, Alana King, Piepa Cleary, Lilly Mills, Holly Ferling

Weather Conditions

The skies over Brisbane will have thick cloud cover on October 28, and there is a prediction for rain. Batting conditions shall be difficult, and batters must get used to the conditions to score runs. The side that bats first in the game shall be happy to have a score of 145 runs on the board.

Venue Details

The wicket at Allan Border Field, Brisbane, is showing slowness this season, and batters have struggled to time the ball here, which is otherwise a venue for big scores. Fast bowlers have done well here in the past, and spinners have also enjoyed success as the oddball tends to turn and grip here.

Toss: To Bowl

The pitch offers a lot for the bowlers in the first half as there is juice underneath, and the conditions become better to bat as the game progresses. Also, there are predictions for rain during the game, which will help the side batting second. Hence we believe the captains shouldn’t hesitate to bowl first here.

ADSW vs PERW

Winning Prediction

Adelaide Strikers Women have looked good in the last three games. However, the side would be worried about the form of its openers. It affects their confidence as they would be taking on a team that has defeated them in the last three games. The Perth Scorchers Women have a powerful batting line-up and depth in their bowling, and this would make them favorites in this contest.

Perth Scorchers Women to win.
