MATCH DETAILS:
Match: Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh
Date: 31st July 2022
Time: 4:30 PM
Venue: Harare Sports Club
Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will lock horns in the second contest of the three-T20I series on the 31st of July at the Harare Sports Club. The host nation recently won the T20 World Cup Qualifier final against the Netherlands and both the finalists qualified for the T20 World Cup. The Craig Ervine-led side will have some match winners in their lineup and will be looking to put up a good performance.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh side is coming off a 3-0 victory against West Indies in the ODI series recently, and they will be fancying their chances against the Zimbabwe side. The Nurul Hasan-led side will miss Mahmudullah in the series. However, this will be a chance for the youngsters in the batting group to shine. They also have some experienced campaigners including the batter Liton Das. Zimbabwe played brilliantly in the first match and took a 1-0 lead against Bangladesh. We bet on the upset in the previous match and it paid off handsomely. Now the cricket betting sites would have adjusted their odds a bit. They still have Bangladesh as the favorites but the difference in odds is not as much as what we saw in the previous match.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh 2nd T20 2022. The match is going to be played at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on the 31st of July 2022.
ZIMBABWE
Zimbabwe’s batters played aggressive cricket against a pretty decent Bangladesh bowling attack and ended up scoring 205 in their 20 overs. That was a score that was quite a fair bit above par in our opinion. Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, and Sikandar Raza smashed the bowling to all parts.
In this next match less than 24 hours after the previous one, there is a likelihood that the pitch will be slower and a bit more difficult to score. That will help the Bangladeshi bowlers and this is why we think the Zimbabwe batters will struggle.
The strategy here should be to bet against the Zimbabwe batters. Look for their Over/Under markets and bet the ‘Under’ where the line is a bit aggressive.
Zimbabwe’s bowling was strictly average and benefitted from having a big score to defend. Luke Jongwe managed to pick up two wickets and Wellington Masakadza was economical but overall, we think this bowling lineup could struggle to contain Bangladesh. Zimbabwe will be led by Craig Ervine in this series too. Sikander Raza and Sean Williams were the top run scorers for Zimbabwe in the qualifiers tournament with Regis Chakabva playing some vital quick-fire knocks at the top. Wesley Madhevere, Milton Shumba, and Ryan Burl will complete the batting line-up in the middle order.
Richard Narva, Blessing Muzurbani, and Luke Jongwe will be their pace attack for this match. They have a big line-up of spin all-rounders Sikander Raza, Sean Williams, Wesley Madhevere, and Ryan Burl in the playing XI and will be aided by Wellington Masakadza in the middle overs.
Top players to bet on: Sikander Raza, Sean Williams, Blessing Muzurbani
BANGLADESH
Bangladesh’s bowling in the death overs was horrific and largely responsible for its defeat. Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam can be expected to hit back. We are going to bet on one of these two bowlers for the Top Bowler Bangladesh market or even hedge our bets and back both of them.
The batting lineup showed promise and even though it fell short by 17 runs, getting to 188 can be seen as a creditable performance from a team missing Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Bangladesh’s batting is not powerful in terms of six-hitting but it is used to playing on sluggish, spin-friendly surfaces, which is what we expect for this match. Bangladesh Preview
Bangladesh will be led by Nurul Hasan who captains his national team for the first time. Liton Das and Anamul Haque will open the batting and their skipper will be supported by the likes of Afif Hossain, Mosadek Hossain, and Mahedi Hasan in the middle order. Najmul Shanto or Munim Shahriar will get a place if they decide to go in with an additional batter.
Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam will be their first-choice pacers in the playing XI with Hasan Mahmud waiting in the ranks. Nasum Ahmed and Mehdi Hasan will join with the all-rounders Mahedi Hasan and Mosadek Hossain to take care of the spin department.
Top players to bet on: Afif Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Nurul Hasan
WEATHER CONDITIONS
Harare has bright and sunny weather with no chances of rain. We expect no interruptions in the play owing to the weather in this match.
ZIM VS BAN PITCH REPORT
Harare Sports Club has provided a lot of assistance to the batters traditionally and a high-scoring encounter can be expected in the venue. The skipper winning the toss will be looking to bat first and put up a big score, as the results here have favored the team batting first.
TOSS: TO BOWL
We expect both captains to bowl first on this track if they win the toss as they will be unsure of the safe target on this pitch.

ZIM VS BAN, 2ND T20I PROBABLE TOP PERFORMERS
PROBABLE BEST BATTER
LITON DAS:
Liton Das has grown in heaps and bounds in the last few years in international cricket across formats and he will be key to the success of the Bangladesh side. The right-hander has played some match-winning innings in recent times and he will back himself to get a big score in the upcoming T20I. The 27-year-old can be destructive at the top of the order with a strike rate of 122.19 and an average of 20 in T20Is so far.
PROBABLE BEST BOWLER
MUSTAFIZUR RAHMAN:
Mustafizur Rahman remains Bangladesh’s biggest asset in the bowling attack and most of the batters have had a tough time facing him, especially in the limited-overs format. With his ability to bowl the quick-off cutters and a disguised yorker, Mustafizur becomes one of the potent options for the Bangladesh side. The 26-year-old has an economy rate of 7.65 in T20Is despite bowling the tough overs for his side.
WINNING PREDICTION
Both teams come into this match will a similar playing XI expected with a host of spin bowling all-rounders in the team. Bangladesh has a better record in their head-to-head matches but has a very inexperienced side for this series. Zimbabwe will be high on confidence after their recent wins but their record against full-time members is not looking good. We expect Bangladesh to win this match.
Bangladesh will win the match & start the series 2-0.
