Joao Felix has joined Barcelona on a loan contract after leaving Atletico Madrid. Felix has five contributions for Barcelona already. Felix has expressed his delight after joining Barcelona on transfer deadline day. Towards the final hours of the summer transfer window, Barcelona signed the Portugal player.
Felix had claimed in the past that it was his dream to play for Barcelona one day. It is fair to say that Felix has been living his dream at the moment. Felix has been very good since he has joined Xavi Hernandez’s lineup. In eight matches so far, Felix has five goals to his name. In seven matches, Felix was in the starting XI.
Felix, who is currently playing for Portugal in the Euro qualifiers, said that he has finally been able to find a good level. “As you can see, I’m happy where I am, I feel good, confident and I feel like I’m going through a good moment. The most difficult thing is to maintain a good level, something that I have not achieved for some time in recent seasons,” Felix said.
The 23-year-old said that he works hard and always tries to improve himself. “But I work every day and I always try to improve to correct those less positive aspects of myself. And yes, I am happy and going through a good time,” added Felix. Before joining Barcelona, Felix faced some issues in Atletico. Felix had failed to make an impact in Atletico after getting signed for £113 millions.
In four seasons for Atletico Madrid, Felix failed to score a double digit number of goals in every season. Felix’s best came in the 2021/22 season, where he scored 8 goals. In an interview recently, Felix described the differences between playing for Atletico and Barcelona. Felix claimed that Barcelona’s style of playing suits him better.
“As I have said several times, the difference between Barcelona and Atletico can be seen in everything, in the team, the club. We can see the way Barcelona play compared to Atletico. It is not bad, but I have adapted better to the way that Barcelona plays. Now I’m happy and it’s the most important thing,” said Felix in an interview.
“Barcelona is a big club, everyone knows their way of playing. I’ve adapted very well, but the most difficult thing is to keep this level up,” concluded Felix.
