Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, has questioned the likelihood of Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid for the upcoming campaign. The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is allegedly a target for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
The superstar may sign a free agency deal with the Spanish powerhouse, according to SPORT. Considering the Frenchman’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2019, Perez may even move to complete his acquisition in January.
According to Le Parisien (via SPORT), the Parisians have no plans to meet with Kylian Mbappe as well as the player’s mom Fayza Lamari. Both sides are allegedly eagerly awaiting Perez’s next move.
In the midst of these conflicting rumours, Tebas has provided a cool-headed viewpoint. He stated the following in an interview recently with Movistar+ (via SPORT):
As Mbappe’s contract nears its conclusion, Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on the issue. The agreement might have been extended through 2025, but the 24-year-old French superstar has decided not to use that option. He therefore becomes a free agent after this season.
It’s important to remember that Los Blancos previously made an all-out effort to sign the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion last year, but only for him to decide to stay with PSG. Real Madrid as well as La Liga would benefit much from a deal for Mbappe, assuming it goes through, since it would strengthen their standing in the footballing world.
If their much expected deal for Kylian Mbappe does not go through next summer, Real Madrid are reportedly considering their options, according to Defensa Central’s report (via Football Espana). The incredibly gifted Mathys Tel, who is presently playing for Bayern Munich, is one name that is surfacing as a potential substitute.
Tel, who is still Bayern’s backup to Harry Kane, may believe that the Santiago Bernabeu is a better setting for his budding career. As of right now, Tel, who has three goals across five matches as a substitute, is the subject of preliminary attention from Real Madrid.
