Manchester United and Chelsea have agreed that Mason Mount would be acquired for up to £60 million. After it was revealed that Mount had no plans of renewing his contract past 2024, it became clear that he is probably going to leave Chelsea during the summer. The midfielder’s predicament alerted teams like Arsenal and Liverpool, but the Red Devils swiftly established themselves as favourites.

Considering the England international was favouring a move to Old Trafford, Manchester United gained an advantage over their competitors. Erik ten Hag’s team had trouble agreeing on a fee that satisfied the Stamford Bridge team, though. They submitted three bids, the most recent of which, for £55 million, was turned down by Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

It has now been revealed that the Red Devils’ negotiations with Mount have finally made progress. The aforementioned source claims that they have reached a £60 million agreement with the Blues, who originally requested a £65 million sum. The Manchester Giants will be making the London-based team an initial payment of £55 million in addition to another five million dollars in add-ons under the terms of the agreement.

Mount has been given approval to get a checkup. Before signing a deal to represent the Old Trafford team, he is now anticipated to settle personal matters with them. According to the renowned transfer journalist, a five-year initial contract will be signed.

At Chelsea, Mason Mount demonstrated his adaptability by playing in a variety of roles, notably central midfield, attacking midfield as well as higher up the pitch. At Manchester United, he could play a variety of roles under Erik ten Hag. The Englishman’s best chance of succeeding Christian Eriksen as a No. 8 is to do so.

With Bruno Fernandes possibly playing on the sides like he did towards the conclusion of the previous season, the midfielder may also serve as a No. 10. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that he will start every game at Old Trafford. It’s important to keep in mind that this summer, Scott McTominay, Fred, as well as Donny van de Beek might depart from the Red Devils.
