Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr has stated that he is not sure when he will call it quits. Additionally, the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or declared that he plans on playing football for as long as he truly enjoys it.
The 38-year-old Portuguese legend is nearing the end of his playing days, but his determination and level of fitness are still quite good. Ronaldo has thrived in the Saudi Pro League this season, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists in 25 games across all competitions. He shows no signs of slowing down.
On January 19, Cristiano Ronaldo received recognition for his achievements at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. In addition to winning the Maradona Award for being the top striker in 2023 (with 54 goals for club and country), he was named the Fan’s Favourite Player of the Year by Globe Soccer.
After the ceremony, Ronaldo spoke with Record in an interview. Regarding the timeline of his playing career, he said, “As I often tell my friends, life is dynamic. Tomorrow is uncertain. I can finish my career at the end of this season, or I can play for another two or three years… I don’t know, to be honest.”
He added, “As long as my head and body are fine, and I enjoy football, I will keep playing. When I feel like I’m no longer useful, I’ll be the first to make the move. I feel good now and am satisfied and happy on the field, whether with the national team or the club. I do what I like most: scoring goals and giving good performances. And I’ll keep going and enjoying.”
The Portugal captain ended by saying, “I will be 39 years old in a few days, and I will play this remaining season and another year in Al Nassr, which is what I want most. When I turn 40, as my friend Jose Semedo says, let’s see what happens then. If I play until the age of 40, it will be a great achievement at this level, and then, if it’s okay, 41, 42… we don’t know.”
