Turkish youngsters Arda Guler caught the attention of Toni Kroos, a midfielder for Real Madrid, when she joined the team this summer. Before the first Madrid derby match of the season against Atletico Madrid on September 24 at the Wanda Metropolitano, Kroos’ remarks about Guler were brought up.
In his seventh season at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 33-year-old has seen a lot of players. The German playmaker is a difficult man to win over, but Guler, a summer addition, has captured his heart.
At the age of 18, Guler transferred from Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe to Real Madrid this summer. The teenager has drawn plaudits for his outlook, which was seen when he played for Fenerbahçe.
Toni Kroos talked about the child’s passion in education and self-improvement as well as the questions he asks to advance his learning. Kroos, who co-hosts the podcast “Einfach mal luppen” alongside his brother Felix, remarked that, “He is one of those talents that asks ‘how do you do that?’, he wants instructions and advice. There are many 18-year-old players who think they are already so good that they don’t need advice at all, but Arda has a learning mentality.”
Teenage star Guler, who ultimately chose Real Madrid over rival Barcelona, battled head-to-head with Barcelona for Real Madrid’s signature. Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Los Blancos, had little knowledge of the young player prior to his arrival, but the manager was astounded by the player’s performances in training.
After getting injured, Guler got knee surgery in August and is now back in full training. According to Ancelotti, the playmaker will be part of Los Blancos’ lineup during their midweek league encounter against Las Palmas.
The 14-time UEFA Champions League champions have a very strong youth core, which includes players like Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni. They are also seeking to add more young people and have Brazilian wonder Endrick coming to the team in two years. In a few years, their team might rank among the greatest in the world.
