The Ballon d’Or is one of the most prestigious individual trophies given to the best player of the year. Lionel Messi the World Cup 2022 winner, he is has the most number of Ballon d’Or with seven by his side. According to the rumours, Messi is set to win his eighth Ballon d’Or title later this month after the results got leaked. The current winner of the award is former Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema.

According to the Spanish outlet reports the results for both the men’s and women’s awards have already been leaked. The report states both Messi and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati.

The former FC Barcelona skipper has beaten Manchester City’s Erling Haaland who won the treble with the City. He led the attack for Pep Guardiola’s side. He scored 52 goals across all competitions and Kylian Mbappe led his side in the 2022 World Cup and scored a hat-trick in the final.
