Former House Leader of PMC set to participate in Taluka Kabaddi competition’s opening ceremony

The Uttar Raigad District Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha are set to host a kabaddi league in Kamothe on May 17 and 18 in honour of Paresh Thakur, a former House Leader of the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) who prioritised sports together with social work.

Ravindra Chavan, the minister of public works, will be participating in the function, which will take place at the Ramsheth Thakur School located Sector 06 Kamothe. On May 17 at 4 p.m., BJP Raigad District President and MLA Prashant Thakur officially launched the league. 

Paresh Thakur, a youth leader, is very interested in sports. He plans numerous sporting activities throughout the year, including football, tennis, badminton, and marathons. Given his love of sports, the Uttar Raigad District Yuva Morcha organised a football, kho-kho, kabaddi, as well as volleyball tournament on his birthday under the banner “Khelo Yuva- Sports Moment.”

In keeping with that, Kamothe will host the Taluka tier Kabaddi League competition, for which preparations have been made. The winner of this tournament for men will receive Rs 21, 111; the runner-up will receive Rs 15, 111; while the third place finisher will receive Rs 11, 111 along with an emblem of honour. These are just an incentive to the winning teams and can prove to be a basis for the teams to give out their best in this epic competition.

What has youth leader Parvesh Thakur been involved in this week?

The pre-monsoon work being done by the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) was reviewed on Monday by Paresh Thakur, the previous leader of the House. Municipal representatives accompanied him.

Throughout the city, the PMC is working on an array of pre-monsoon projects. In addition to Sectors 20, 19, 16, 12, 7, 6, and 8 in Kalamboli, Sectors 7, 8, and 10 in Kharghar, Thakur also visited Kopra village.

Thakur issued the required orders and gave the go-ahead to the authorities to make sure that rainwater should not accumulate. Additionally, he requested that contractors who performed subpar work face harsh punishment.
