The District Administration, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, is actively engaged in various activities to make the “Drug-Free India” campaign successful. The seriousness of this campaign can be gauged by the fact that the Deputy Commissioner himself is involved in many of these activities and is motivating the youth to stay away from drugs. The group departments of the district are working continuously to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The District Sports Officer Baljinder Singh stated that the department organized football and kabaddi matches for girls on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The football match was held at Sub Center Football Village Kokri Phula Singh and the kabaddi match at Kabaddi Sub Center Unique School of Studies Samalsar. The winners of these events were felicitated with kit bags by the Sports Department to encourage them to pursue sports with more enthusiasm.

Such activities organized by the district administration and departments will go a long way in creating awareness among the youth about the dangers of drug abuse. It is heartening to see that the administration is actively involved in such initiatives to create a drug-free society. With the active participation of people at all levels, we can hope to create a healthier and safer environment for the future generations.
