Results from Day 2 of the KMP Yuva Kabaddi Series 2023 Promotion Round

On April 21, the second matchday of the KMP Yuva Kabaddi Series 2023’s Promotion Round, there were close games and a lopsided match, with Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, Mumbai Shahar, and Pune winning their respective matches against Mumbai Upnagar, Nanded, Nashik, and Thane.

Ahmednagar, Mumbai Shahar, and Kolhapur, the top three teams, are unbeaten in this round; however, Mumbai Upnagar, Nanded, and Nashik have yet to start a winning streak. In one of their two league games, Thane District and Pune District have each earned a single victory.

Even though all eight of these teams have already qualified for the playoffs, they still need to win to boost their morale and go to a much higher round in order to stand out from the competition.

Day two of the Promotion round kicked off with Kolhapur defeating Mumbai Upnagar by a score of 37-35. In the second game of the day, the deadly raiding team of Ahmednagar’s Aditya Shinde and Prafull Zaware scored 35 points and completely outplayed Nanded. The final score was 51-42.

In the third game of the day, Mumbai Shahar defeated Nashik by 17 points, 51-34, to earn their second victory of the competition. In order to assist Mumbai Shahar win two games in a row, Jatin Vinde scored a Super-10 (13 points) and destroyed Nashik’s defence with 20 raid points from Shardul. The fourth game of the day saw Pune District defeat Nashik District 36-30.

Match 89: Kolhapur beat Mumbai Upnagar by 37-34

Match 90: Ahmednagar beat Nanded by 51-42

Match 91: Mumbai Shahar beat Nashik by 51-34

Match 92: Pune beat Thane by 36-30

Kabaddi tournament played in Kanaram’s honour

In honour of Kabaddi player Kanaram, a district-level competition was held in Jat Boarding Sikar. Sikar Jagdish Fauji, president of the Kabaddi Association, and Subhash Jakhar, state president of SFI, participated in the programme as the main guests.

Teams playing kabaddi competed at the district level from all throughout the district. Kanaram is a skilled basketball and hockey player, according to Jagdish Fauji. A student in class 9 perished as a result of gunshots being fired at the farmer’s hostel inside police Daman for four hours on April 22, 1987. Kanaram, a student, died a martyr. He asserted that it is necessary to pursue Kanaram’s goals in the present. In honour of Kanaram, the student organisation SFI holds a kabaddi competition each year.
