Second Kabaddi Mahakumbh kicks off in Bharatpur with 40 teams participating

The Second Kabaddi Mahakumbh was recently inaugurated in the Bharatpur assembly of Rajasthan. Minister of State for Technical Education Dr. Subhash Garg inaugurated the eight-day competition at Master Adityendra Senior Secondary School. He encouraged the players to play their game with the spirit of sportsmanship and not with the feeling of winning or losing. He emphasized that victory comes only after defeat.

The Kabaddi Mahakumbh has a total of 40 teams from the Bharatpur assembly constituency participating in the competition. Coordinator of the competition, Natwar Singh, stated that one team each from all 24 gram panchayats of the constituency and 16 teams from Bharatpur city are participating. Each team consists of 12 players.

Addressing the players participating in the Kabaddi competition, Minister Dr. Subhash Garg said that the state government is making continuous efforts for the development of sports in Bharatpur. He also mentioned various facilities that the government has provided to support sportspersons in the region. These include the construction of Salim Durrani Residential Sports School, Sports Complex, Synthetic Track in Bharatpur, and Krida Sangam in Master Adityendra Senior Secondary School. In addition, the state government has given out-of-turn government jobs and increased the prize money for players in international and national competitions to encourage them.

Minister Dr. Garg stressed that sports strengthen the sense of self-confidence in students and keep the body and mind healthy. He urged the players not to play their game with the spirit of victory and defeat but with the spirit of the game. He emphasized that victory comes only after defeat.

The opening match of the Kabaddi competition was played between Murwara and Bharatpur team number 9. The program was presided over by Girish Chaudhary, Deputy Mayor of Municipal Corporation. Special guests at the inauguration included Dr. Dayachand Pachauri, President of the City Congress Committee, Premsingh Kuntal, Deputy Director of School Education, Mahatma Gandhi, Rameshwar Dayal Bansal, District Education Officer, Elementary Education.

On the occasion of the inauguration, school girls gave an attractive cultural presentation. The event is expected to boost the spirit of sportsmanship and encourage more people to participate in sports in Bharatpur. It is an excellent platform for the players to showcase their skills and talent in Kabaddi. The state government’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and support sportspersons will undoubtedly go a long way in promoting sports in the region. Overall, the Kabaddi Mahakumbh promises to be a thrilling competition and a great initiative towards the development of sports in Bharatpur.
