The Guwahati venue has witnessed two men’s ODIs before the upcoming India-West Indies clash. India have an unbeaten record in those matches, winning both games.
The first ODI at Barsapara came in October 2018, when India faced West Indies. The visitors posted 322/8, but India chased the target in just 42.1 overs, reaching 326/2 and winning by eight wickets.
The second men’s ODI at the ground was played in January 2023, when India took on Sri Lanka. The hosts smashed 373/7 before restricting Sri Lanka to 306/8, winning by 67 runs.

With Rohit back in India’s ODI side for the 2026 series, his previous record at the venue adds another interesting subplot to the second ODI.

Virat Kohli’s remarkable record in Guwahati
Kohli has also enjoyed extraordinary success in Guwahati.
The former India captain has played two ODIs at Barsapara and scored 253 runs, averaging 126.50. Even more impressively, he has scored a century in both innings at the venue.
Kohli made 140 against West Indies in 2018 before following it with 113 against Sri Lanka in 2023. He also won the Player of the Match award in both games.
Following his record-breaking century in the first ODI of the current series, Kohli’s return to Barsapara will naturally attract enormous attention.
Best bowling figures at Barsapara Cricket Stadium
Although the ground has developed a reputation for producing runs, bowlers have also enjoyed memorable spells.
Yuzvendra Chahal holds the record for the most ODI wickets at the venue, with four wickets across two matches. His best figures are 3/41 against West Indies in 2018.
The venue has also witnessed a three-wicket haul from Mohammed Siraj, who returned figures of 3/30 in one of the previous ODIs.
