Buttler entered the match with 4,212 T20I runs and needed 20 more to move past Rohit Sharma’s tally of 4,231. He reached the mark during his explosive knock and finished the innings with 4,292 runs from 161 T20I appearances. Buttler’s latest milestone also makes him England’s highest run-scorer in men’s T20Is. He is among a select group of batters to have crossed the 4,000-run mark in the format, underlining his consistency across a long international career. Only Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains ahead of Buttler on the leaderboard. Babar has accumulated 4,596 T20I runs, giving him a lead of 304 runs over the England wicketkeeper-batter.
