Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his dream start to international cricket by smashing his maiden T20I half-century during India’s seven-wicket win over Zimbabwe in the opening match of the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club on Thursday, July 23. The 15-year-old once again displayed his fearless approach, racing to a 19-ball fifty to help India chase down 126 in just 13.2 overs.

While his explosive batting grabbed the headlines, it was his unique celebration after reaching the milestone that caught the attention of fans on social media. Speaking after the match, the youngster finally revealed the story behind both of his celebrations and explained the special people they were dedicated to.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi reveals the meaning behind his celebration

After bringing up his maiden T20I fifty, Vaibhav performed his now-famous ‘A’ celebration before following it up with a double thumbs-up gesture. Explaining the significance of both celebrations in a video shared by the BCCI, the left-handed opener said the ‘A’ celebration is dedicated to his mother, while the thumbs-up gesture was inspired by a conversation he had with teammate Rinku Singh.

“I did that celebration for my mom, and the other one was based on a conversation with Rinku Bhaiya,” Vaibhav said.

The heartwarming revelation quickly won over fans, with many praising the youngster for acknowledging both his family and his senior teammate after one of the biggest moments of his young international career.
