Jason Holder produces stunning delivery to dismiss Jewel Andrew as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots beat St Lucia Kings in CPL 2026

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots secured their first victory of CPL 2026 after overcoming St Lucia Kings by five wickets in Gros Islet. The hosts appeared to have built a competitive total after strong contributions from Kamil Pooran and Jewel Andrew, but a late collapse prevented them from setting a bigger target. Jason Holder played a major role in that collapse, claiming three wickets and producing one of the key deliveries of the innings.

The dismissal came in the 16th over when Holder bowled a full delivery at 123.6kph that targeted the stumps. Andrew shuffled across his crease and attempted to execute a premeditated scoop shot. However, the batter failed to make contact as the ball went straight through and crashed into the base of the off stump.

Andrew departed after an impressive 58 off 42 deliveries, having struck two fours and four sixes. Holder completed the over with another wicket, dismissing Charith Asalanka and leaving the Kings in serious trouble. He finished with excellent figures of 3 for 20.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots chase down 156-run target

St Lucia Kings were put into bat after Roston Chase won the toss, and their innings initially appeared to be heading towards a strong total. Andrew and Pooran added 82 runs from 51 balls for the third wicket, with Pooran scoring 54 off 30 deliveries. However, the Patriots’ bowlers applied pressure during the closing stages. Holder and Saurabh Netravalkar combined to take six wickets for just 52 runs, while the Kings managed only 22 runs during the final five overs.

The Patriots needed 156 to win and made a steady start despite losing Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers during the powerplay. Andre Fletcher then anchored the chase brilliantly, remaining unbeaten on 48 from 41 balls. Fletcher received useful support from Kevin Wickham, Holder and Dasun Shanaka before Wanindu Hasaranga finished the chase with a six. The Patriots reached 156 for 5 in 17.4 overs to register a five-wicket victory.
