Manchester Super Giants edge thrilling contest
Chasing 139, London Spirit found themselves under pressure early before Livingstone and Dewald Brevis rebuilt the innings with a composed partnership. Livingstone then switched gears in trademark fashion, smashing five sixes during a magnificent 69 off 40 balls to keep Spirit firmly in the hunt.
However, Manchester Super Giants held their nerve in the closing moments. Gus Atkinson produced a crucial spell at the death, including the wicket of Brevis with a sharp caught-and-bowled chance, before Sonny Baker delivered the decisive blow by clean bowling Livingstone with only five balls remaining.
The dismissal effectively sealed the contest as Manchester Super Giants secured a hard-fought seven-run victory, restricting London Spirit to 131/6 in front of a packed crowd at Lord’s.
