The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2026 promises another exciting season of women’s T20 cricket, with Australia’s leading franchises preparing to compete for the title. The tournament brings together international stars and emerging Australian talent, offering fans a mix of aggressive batting, quality fast bowling and tactical battles throughout the league stage.

WBBL| 12: Eight teams set for the challenge

Eight teams will compete for the championship title: Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder. Each side will aim to build consistency across the group stage and secure a place in the finals.

With experienced international players expected to play key roles, squad balance could prove decisive. Teams with reliable top-order batters, versatile all-rounders and bowlers who can deliver in the powerplay and death overs will have an advantage in the fast-paced T20 format.
