Jadon Sancho, the forward for Manchester United, has confirmed his return to Borussia Dortmund in Germany on a loan.

After Sancho and manager Erik ten Hag fell out, Borussia Dortmund attempted to sign the former player from Manchester United. They were able to come to a deal with the Red Devils that would allow the winger to play for them until the conclusion of the season after weeks of talks.

They have not participated in any first-team activities with Manchester United since his well-publicized altercation alongside manager Erik ten Hag. When he failed to accept responsibility for his role in their falling out, the former Ajax manager shut him out of the team.

When Borussia Dortmund bought Sancho from Manchester City in 2017, they were taking a gamble on the teenage player. Seven years later, they have carried out the same action. The winger used just two words in a club release on X to declare his comeback. He said, “I’m back”

The German team will pay a portion of his salary, but the Manchester United has declined to include a buyout clause in the deal. The Red Devils will only talk about selling him after his loan period is up because they feel that his full value is not being adequately reflected at this time.

Borussia Dortmund gave away roughly €4 million over to the English team as their portion to the salaries of the attacker. Following the confirmation of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, Sancho became their second loan acquisition this month.

Manchester United was among the first teams to express interest in Jadon Sancho when he became one of the best young attackers in the world. Before they were able to acquire the forward in 2021, they attempted to do so for over two windows.

Although the forward cost the Red Devils over £73 million, he never really lived up to that cost at Old Trafford. In 82 games, he only scored 12 goals and provided six assists, a stark contrast to his stats at Dortmund.
