The 19th match of the SA20 2024 took place between Paarl Royals and Durban Super Giants at Boland Park in Paarl on January 26. The contest saw a complete domination from the Super Giants who went on to register an emphatic win by 57 runs.
Mitchell Van Buuren plucks a tremendous catch
While the match was highlighted by Super Giants batters and bowlers, there was one moment involving a Paarl Royals’ player who grabbed attention with his fielding heroics. Mitchell Van Buuren, who couldn’t contribute well enough with the bat, made a jaw-dropping effort on the field to take a spectacular catch that god rid of JJ Smuts.
The incident took place during the 18th over bowled by Lungi Ngidi when Smuts flicked the low full-toss in the air. For a moment, it appeared the ball would easily sail over the boundary but van Buuren had some other plans. On the edge of the boundary van Buuren took a splendid catch and before going outside the boundary rope, he threw it back and comes back in right time to complete the catch.
