India hold a commanding 2–0 lead in the three-match ODI series against West Indies, with the final fixture scheduled for October 3, 2026 at New Chandigarh. The West Indies must win to avoid a series whitewash, making selection decisions critical for the visiting team.

West Indies have shown mixed form across the first two ODIs. While some batters have made significant contributions, inconsistency in the middle order and bowling performance have hampered their efforts to compete with India’s strong showing.

Here are the West Indies’ predicted XI for the third ODI vs India:

Top Order: John Campbell, Keacy Carty, Shai Hope (c) (wk)

John Campbell has been West Indies’ standout performer with the bat. He scored 62 in the opening match and followed that with 101 in the second ODI, demonstrating the form required to anchor the innings in the series decider.

Keacy Carty has managed only 22 runs across the two completed matches and faces pressure to improve his output. Shai Hope, the captain and wicketkeeper, scored 104 runs in the second ODI and will be crucial to West Indies’ batting plans.

Middle Order: Amir Jangoo, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Keemo Paul

Amir Jangoo has been the most consistent middle-order batter, scoring an unbeaten 58 in the first ODI and 114 in the second. His performances suggest he should retain his place in the XI. Sherfane Rutherford struggled in the second ODI with a duck and may face selection scrutiny.

Roston Chase has contributed 53 runs across both matches while also taking one wicket with the ball, offering value as an all-rounder. Keemo Paul has managed only three runs in the series and has not taken a wicket, putting his position under review.

Lower Order/Bowlers: Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales, Vitel Lawes

In the bowling attack, Alzarri Joseph took one wicket but conceded more than 150 runs across the two ODIs, indicating he may need support from other seamers. Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales each took one wicket in the second ODI. Vitel Lawes, who played in one match, did not take a wicket and may be reconsidered for the final game.
