In the ongoing third and final game of the ODI series between India and Australia, the visitors have set a target of 270 for the hosts. The game is evenly poised as both the teams seem to have a chance of winning the game on a slow and turning track at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
In the run-chase, the Men in Blue could not hold a comfortable position, despite getting a good start. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill engaged in a 65-run partnership before the former was dismissed for 30 of 17 in the 10th over of the game. Gill too followed his opening partner three overs later, losing his wicket after being adjudged LBW off leg-spinner Adam Zampa.
Kohli and KL Rahul were fresh batters at the crease and looked to steady the ship after Men in Blue lost two wickets in quick succession before an unwanted moment came up on the field. In an awkward turn of events, Kohli and Marcus Stoinis got involved in a shoulder bump after the third ball of the 21st over. Rahul played a dot-ball as Stoinis headed towards his run-up. Kohli, who was walking towards the striker’s end to have a chat with the batter, found the Aussie pacer in his way, leading to a tussle between the two.
The 34-year-old batter did not seem to be amused with the incident, as his expression seemed to be warm. Stoinis, on the other hand, did not pay much attention to what happened and continued towards his bowling mark with a smile on his face.
