Jacob Bethell breaks into top 10 as England stars make big gains in latest ICC T20I Rankings

The latest ICC T20I rankings have brought notable changes across the batting, bowling and all-rounder standings following England‘s dominant performances against India. After the opening T20I in Durham was washed out, England registered consecutive victories in the second and third matches to take control of the series, with several of their players being rewarded for standout displays. While India’s leading stars largely retained their positions, England’s Jacob Bethell, Sam Curran and Adil Rashid were among the biggest gainers in the latest rankings update.

Jacob Bethell storms into the top 10 after match-winning performances

England youngster Bethell has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the latest rankings update. The left-handed batter has climbed seven places to eighth in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after playing a crucial role in England’s victories over India.

Bethell’s rise was powered by his outstanding 76-run knock that laid the foundation for England’s memorable win over India. His consistent performances throughout the series have now earned him a place among the world’s top 10 T20I batters for the first time.

Despite England’s recent success, Jos Buttler has retained his seventh position after a relatively quiet series. At the top of the rankings, India’s Ishan Kishan continues to hold on to the No. 1 spot, with teammate Abhishek Sharma remaining second. Tilak Varma is the only other Indian batter inside the top 10, occupying sixth place.

Adil Rashid, Sam Curran rise as bowling rankings witness reshuffle

England also enjoyed gains in the bowling rankings following their impressive performances against India. Veteran leg-spinner Rashid has climbed one place to become the world’s third-ranked T20I bowler after another productive series. Meanwhile, Curran’s impressive all-round display has helped him move up to 71st in the bowling rankings after claiming three wickets in the second T20I.

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan continues to lead the bowling charts, while India’s Varun Chakravarthy has slipped from third to fifth position. India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has also dropped two places to eighth after being rested for the ongoing T20I series against England.

All-rounder rankings see Hardik Pandya lose second spot

The latest rankings update also produced significant movement among the all-rounders. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub has overtaken India’s Hardik Pandya to move into the No. 2 position, while Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza continues to occupy the top spot.

England’s Will Jacks has climbed six places to seventh after contributing with both bat and ball, while Curran has also moved up six positions to 13th following his impactful performances against India, including an unbeaten 41-run knock in the third T20I. India’s Shivam Dube, however, has dropped out of the top 10 all-rounder rankings after the latest update, marking one of the biggest changes involving Indian players in this week’s ICC T20I rankings.
