The latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings have brought major changes across the Test, ODI and T20I formats, with South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen and India opener Abhishek Sharma leading the latest movements. Jansen reached the top of two Test rankings for the first time in his career after an outstanding performance against Australia, while Abhishek returned to No. 1 among T20I batters following his record-breaking century.

Jansen contributed 85 runs with the bat and claimed a match-turning five-wicket haul in Australia’s first innings during the second Test in Gqeberha. His all-round performance helped South Africa secure a comprehensive victory and level the three-match series at 1-1. The 26-year-old climbed five places to overtake Mitchell Starc as the No. 1 Test bowler and moved up one position to displace Ravindra Jadeja at the top of the Test all-rounder rankings.

Jansen’s rise marks a significant change in the Test all-rounder rankings, with Jadeja losing the top position after holding it for more than four years. The South African left-armer’s contribution with both bat and ball against Australia proved decisive in his climb to the top of the rankings.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma was another major beneficiary of the victory. He climbed four places to second in the Test batting rankings after scoring a superb 179 in the first innings. England captain Harry Brook remains the only batter ahead of Bavuma on the updated list. Australia’s Scott Boland also made progress among Test bowlers, moving up three places to sixth, while South Africa spinner Simon Harmer climbed 15 spots to eighth among Test all-rounders.

Abhishek Sharma reclaims No. 1 spot in T20I batting rankings

Abhishek returned to the top of the T20I batting rankings after his explosive century against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I in Wellington. The left-hander smashed 113 off just 38 deliveries, reaching his hundred in 35 balls to help India chase down 199 with six wickets and 40 balls remaining. His performance displaced teammate Ishan Kishan, who had taken the top spot in July.

Sanju Samson also climbed six places to 20th in the T20I batting rankings, while New Zealand batter Finn Allen rose three spots to 25th. Mitchell Santner moved up seven places to seventh among T20I bowlers, and Arshdeep Singh gained six spots to 15th.

The latest ODI rankings also saw several notable changes as the tri-series involving Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka continued. England’s Ben Duckett and Brook made gains among ODI batters, while Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi climbed two places to sixth among ODI bowlers. Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai rose 13 spots to seventh, and Namibia spinner Bernard Scholtz moved up nine places to eighth. Veteran Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi also gained five positions to reach third in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
