India’s all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy produced a sensational bowling performance in the AFG vs IND 3rd T20I, claiming three wickets in the same over to completely derail Afghanistan’s chase at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
India had already put Afghanistan under enormous pressure by posting 221/7 in 20 overs, but Nitish ensured there was no way back for the visitors. The right-arm seamer removed three key batters in the 12th over, reducing Afghanistan to 82/8 and effectively ending the contest.
India eventually bowled Afghanistan out for 94 in 14.1 overs, completing a massive 127-run victory and a 3-0 sweep of the three-match T20I series.
Nitish Kumar Reddy produces a stunning triple strike
Nitish’s third over was the turning point of Afghanistan’s innings. He started the over with the wicket of experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nabi.
Nabi attempted to attack a back-of-a-length delivery aimed at the stumps but failed to make contact. The ball went straight through his defence and crashed into the stumps.
Nitish then struck again with the third delivery. He bowled a fuller ball around the off stump, inviting Azmatullah Omarzai to go for a big shot. Omarzai sliced the delivery high into the air towards sweeper cover, where Ravi Bishnoi completed the catch.
The Indian all-rounder saved his best delivery for the fifth ball of the over. A well-directed yorker caught Mujeeb Ur Rahman by surprise, with the Afghanistan batter unable to bring his bat down in time. The ball crashed into the stumps to complete a remarkable three-wicket over.
By the end of the over, Afghanistan had slipped to 82/8, and the match was effectively beyond their reach.
Despite conceding 15 runs in his opening over, Nitish recovered brilliantly to finish the third T20I with figures of 3/25 from four overs.

His performance continued an impressive turnaround during the series. After going wicketless for 30 runs in his two overs in the opening T20I, Nitish responded with 3/24 in the second match, earning the Player of the Match award.
He backed that performance up with another three-wicket haul in the series finale. Overall, Nitish finished the three-match series with six wickets, establishing himself as India’s leading wicket-taker during the contest.
Abhishek Sharma sets up India’s bowling attack
Nitish’s spell was made possible by the enormous pressure created by India’s batting performance.
Abhishek Sharma delivered a breathtaking innings, smashing 108 runs from only 34 balls. The left-hander struck nine fours and 11 sixes as India raced to 221/7.
Abhishek reached his century from just 30 deliveries, giving India a commanding platform before the bowlers took over.
Sanju Samson also contributed with a quick half-century, while the opening partnership between the two batters helped India record a remarkable 100/0 during the powerplay.
Afghanistan collapse as India complete 3-0 sweep
Once Afghanistan began their chase, India’s bowlers maintained control throughout.
Nitish’s triple strike was followed by further breakthroughs, with Bishnoi also finishing with 3/26. Axar Patel picked up two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Yash Thakur chipped in with one each.
Afghanistan were eventually dismissed for just 94 in 14.1 overs, handing India their biggest win of the series.
The result also completed a 3-0 series sweep for India. The T20 World Cup champions won the first two matches by seven wickets each before producing an even more dominant performance in the final game.
