Prasidh Krishna floors KL Rahul in front of the stumps with toe crushing yorker during GT vs DC clash in IPL 2025

The 35th match of IPL 2025 at Ahmedabad promised a blockbuster, with Gujarat Titans (GT) hosting table-toppers Delhi Capitals (DC) under the blazing afternoon sun. GT skipper Shubman Gill, reading both the pitch and the weather, won the toss and put DC in to bat, hoping his unchanged side could exploit the conditions and keep the Capitals’ power-packed line-up in check. With both teams eyeing the top spot, the stakes were sky-high at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Prasidh Krishna sets up KL Rahul with an absolute jaffa

Delhi Capitals, riding high with five wins in six games, started with a flourish. Abishek Porel and Karun Nair gave them a brisk start, but the real fireworks came from KL Rahul, who strode in after Porel’s early dismissal. Rahul looked in sublime touch, peppering the field with crisp boundaries and a towering six, racing to 28 off just 14 balls.

Enter Prasidh Krishna, the GT pacer, known for his sharp bounce and late swing, sensed the moment. He began his spell by peppering Rahul with two sharp short balls, forcing the DC vice-captain onto the back foot and disrupting his rhythm. Then, in a masterstroke of fast-bowling artistry, Prasidh unleashed a searing yorker in the fifth over. The ball tailed away late, sneaking under Rahul’s attempted flick and crashing into his toes. The appeal was instant—and so was the umpire’s finger. Rahul, pinned plumb in front, knew there was no escape. Despite a brief chat with Nair about a possible review, he walked back, the first Karnataka duel of the afternoon decisively won by Prasidh.

Delhi Capitals post a competitive total against Gujarat Titans

Rahul’s wicket halted DC’s momentum as they threatened to run away with the game. In the powerplay overs, Delhi notched up their best opening burst of the season, reaching 73/2 after six overs. But with Rahul gone and Nair soon following—caught off Prasidh again—the Capitals found themselves at 93/3 in 8.2 overs, with Axar Patel and the middle order tasked with rebuilding.

The flat pitch was expected to yield a run-fest, but GT’s bowling unit – led by Prasidh’s four wickets (4/) – kept things in check. Eventually, the Capitals fought back brilliantly in the death overs to finish at 203/8. Skipper Axar top-scored with 39 runs off 32 balls, while Ashutosh Sharma played a cameo of 37 (19).
