KL Rahul aggressive celebration after DC win

In a thrilling IPL 2025 showdown at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Delhi Capitals (DC) continued their unbeaten streak with a commanding six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The night belonged to local boy KL Rahul, whose unbeaten 93 off 53 balls and an electrifying celebration stole the spotlight, leaving fans buzzing and social media ablaze.

A homecoming to remember for KL Rahul

For Rahul, the local lad, the match was more than just another game—it was a homecoming. Having debuted in the IPL with RCB from 2013 to 2016 and later returning as a key player for other franchises, the 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batter carried a point to prove against his former team. His masterful innings ensured DC chased down RCB’s target of 164 with 13 balls to spare, securing their fourth consecutive win of the season.

Rahul’s knock was a blend of composure and aggression. Walking in at a precarious 10/2, he weathered early pressure, survived a dropped catch by RCB captain Rajat Patidar, and gradually shifted gears. His unbeaten 93 included seven fours and six sixes, with a standout 22-run assault off Josh Hazlewood in the 16th over that tilted the game firmly in DC’s favor.

Rahul’s aggressive celebration after the win

As Rahul sealed the victory with a towering six off Yash Dayal in the 18th over, the Chinnaswamy crowd witnessed a rare glimpse of his raw emotion. Removing his helmet, he thumped his chest, pointed to the ground, and reportedly exclaimed, “This is my ground!” The gesture, a bold declaration of his connection to the venue, and sparked a viral moment online.

Even in the post-match presentation where he was named Player of the Match, Rahul spoke about his connection with the Chinnaswamy Stadium and termed it as his ground and he knows it better than anyone else.

“I know this ground better than anyone else. It’s my home. Wicketkeeping gave me a feel for how the pitch played, and I just backed my shots,” said Rahul.
