Sri Lanka struggles with the bat against Sneh Rana
Sri Lanka Women were put in to bat after India Women won the toss and elected to field. It was a slow and frustrating start for the hosts, who lost wickets at regular intervals. Hasini Perera (30 off 46 balls) top-scored, but none of the other batters could provide significant resistance. Chamari Athapaththu (7), Harshitha Samarawickrama (14) and Hansima Karunaratne (4) were dismissed cheaply, with Sneh Rana‘s spin and Shree Charani’s variations proving too much to handle. The collapse continued as Nilakshika Silva (10), Kavisha Dilhari (25), and Piumi Badalge (2) followed soon after. Anushka Sanjeewani (22) and Achini Kulasuriya (17) tried to stitch together a partnership, but the total still lacked substance. Ultimately, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 147 in 38.1 overs, with Deepti (2 wickets), Charani (2 wickets) and Rana (3 wickets) dominating the attack.

India chased down the target with help of Pratika Rawal and Harleen Deol
In reply, India wasted no time and set about their chase with intent. Pratika Rawal (50 not out off 62 balls) anchored the chase beautifully, with her composed knock laced with 7 fours. Partnering with Smriti Mandhana (43 off 46), they brought up 50 runs for the first wicket in just 8.6 overs, putting the pressure back on Sri Lanka. Mandhana fell to Inoka Ranaweera, caught and bowled, but Harleen Deol (48 not out off 71 balls) took charge alongside Rawal, forming another key partnership worth 50 runs. The duo accelerated the chase, and India reached their target of 148 comfortably in 29.4 overs, with 56 balls to spare. India victory was a team effort, with Rana’s bowling brilliance and a steady chase led by Rawal and Deol. Sri Lanka’s batting woes continued, while India showcased their depth in both bowling and batting to start the series on a high.
