2022–2023 Premier League: A Head Start for the New Season

Aug 7, 2022

THE SCOTTISH Premiership fixtures have already been announced, it is amazing how quickly time passes and the transfer window is now open for the English Premier League Season 2022-2023. This year will be particularly different for English football because of the World Cup’s odd location in Qatar, which will cause significant schedule changes.

The clubs and players who compete in Premier League games could be significantly impacted by matchups in Qatar, so those who are interested in Premier League betting will need to be on their game this year if they want to be successful. Even if you are not a lover of betting, today’s article on key season statistics will be important reading for all Premier League supporters due to the special features of this year’s league.

The start date for the 2022/23 season has been set as August 6, 2022, which is quite similar to the 13th August start date of the 2021/22 season. The new season will start at about the same time as a typical year. The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which is scheduled to take place in the middle of the Premier League season, necessitated significant calendar changes for the season.

There will be a call-up period for the tournament starting on November 14 after the sixteenth round of matches is played on the weekend of November 12–13. Boxing Day, which is just seven days after the FIFA World Cup Final in Qatar on Sunday, December 18, will see the Premier League resume.

The UK Football Governing Body ordered that games be played on Boxing Day in accordance with this custom; all 20 competing teams will play on December 26th, with all ten matches starting at 15:00 GMT. Boxing Day football has recently become something of an institution in Great Britain.

Initial Favorites

It may seem premature to predict who will win the English Premier League in 2022–23, but it’s always fun to hazard a guess. After all, we have years of data to draw upon, including the results of the previous campaign, which included a truly thrilling finale in which Leeds United managed to maintain their Premier League status despite all odds.

Manchester City

Manchester City are the current favorites, which is not surprise given that they won the competition fully the year prior. Man City are currently priced at 8/13, but it’s hard to tell if it represents a good deal or if their odds will start to decline in the coming weeks as deals are finalized, friendlies are played, and more money starts to bet on the elite teams. Having said that, the club has already incorporated Erling Haaland into their already stellar roster, which will undoubtedly make them even more formidable.

Liverpool

Liverpool, which is listed at 12/5, is just behind Man City and easily could have won the 2021/22 trophy had City played worse in their final game. In the end, Liverpool’s 3-1 triumph wasn’t enough to secure the title, and their agonizing 0-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League final earlier in the season converted their ambitions of a record-breaking quadruple into a still-impressive double.

Chelsea

As the “best of the rest” behind the two dominant teams of the 2021/22 season, Chelsea has had a difficult year due to owner-related concerns and an inability to conduct business as usual as a result. It’s a new era at Stamford Bridge now that Todd Boehly has assumed the helm, and with a price of 16/1 currently being given, this one has to be worth a shot in any gambler’s book!
