Argentina is one of the most successful teams in World Cup history, having won the competition twice and placed second each time.

Also, they have qualified for all but four of the competition’s editions. It comes as no surprise that they were successful in getting a spot in Qatar.

They really performed exceptionally well in CONCACAF qualifying, winning 11 of their 17 games while drawing six and losing none. Due to health officials accessing the field in September 2021, their match versus Brazil was postponed; it was later rescheduled for September this year but ultimately scrapped.

Argentina finished second in the group as a result, securing automatic qualification for the competition this winter.

It will now be up to Lionel Scaloni and his players to demonstrate their abilities over the next weeks and months. Lionel Messi, who is now 35, will be desperate for Scaloni’s assistance to help him win his first World Cup championship gold.
