At one stage in the game, United were 2-0 up and saw themselves in the lead with a scoreline of 3-1 in favour of them. What followed was unbelievable. United just threw away the start they got and let Galatasaray make a comeback in the game.
United have scored 9 goals in the Group stage. Despite having a good attacking side, they have failed to claim a win away from home, which is strange. That’s how the Sports is, totally unpredictable. After leading 3-1 in the game at one point, Ten Hag’s side ended up with a 3-3 draw that nearly put an end to the chances of them qualifying for the Round of 16. The fans of the club have developed a total anguish over the gameplay, and rightfully so.
The reason behind the lack of success of the team in the entire season, and the match against Galatasaray has been their poor defence. The forwards have done their job more than well. There have been goal-scorers for United in the season. Unfortunately, the defenders have let down the former champions. Even the wicketkeeper has not been that great in the season for them. Over aggressive approach has not been that great for them.

The challenge for United is huge and they have to win at all costs to stay alive in the tournament. They have to win with a huge margin to ensure an improvement in goal difference to be in contention.
