Riyad Mahrez, one of the most standout attacking players in the Premier League, is expected to join Al-Ahli this summer. According to journalist David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, the Manchester City attacker is set to sign a three-year deal with an additional season also kept as an option. His team will be paid a set fee of €30 million in addition to €5 million in extra compensation.

This summer, Al-Hilal, one of the other top clubs from the Saudi Pro League has already signed names like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves, and Koulibaly Koulibaly. Al–Ahli have also made some statement signings and are not holding back. Prior to the start of the upcoming Saudi Pro League season, Mahrez is expected to be Al-Ahli’s most prominent signing

This season, the Algerian international began the latter two years of the contract he had signed with the Etihad. For a cost of €67.8 million, he left Leicester City and joined Manchester City in the summer of 2018 and was instantly a success for the Manchester club.

Since that time, Mahrez has played in 236 games with the Cityzens, scoring 78 goals and dishing out 59 assists while also winning 12 championships. Additionally, he has won the Premier League five times, with four of those victories occurring under Pep Guardiola.

The 32-year-old’s significance in the Spanish tactician’s starting XI was ebbing with time. All 38 of their fixtures in the Premier League last season included him in the matchday roster, but he made just 22 appearances.

The left-footed right winger is renowned for his exquisite passing and dynamic dribbling abilities. He is also a skilled playmaker and possesses an immaculate finish. It’s rumoured that City is looking for someone to take his place and wouldn’t mind splashing the cash on some of the big names in the market.

According to numerous rumours, if the Mahrez move to Al-Ahli is approved this summer, the Premier League heavyweights plan to sign Raphinha from Barcelona.
