Football world is bracing for a busy January transfer window. Manchester United are looking for reinforcements amid their struggles on the pitch. According to several reports there is a chance that one former Chelsea center back could be Old Trafford bound in the coming few weeks.

Erik Ten Hag and his side are currently 6th in the table ahead of their visit to Liverpool on Sunday. There are concerns about the future of the Dutch Manager if he loses to their most hated rivals on Sunday.

Graham Potter has been sounded out for possible succession role at Old Trafford. It has been widely speculated that Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazers are set to hold a meeting with Erik Ten Hag in the coming weeks.

Former Chelsea ace Old Trafford Bound?

If reports are to be believed, Fikayao Tomori the former Chelsea FC center back could make a move to Manchester United. The 25-year-old is currently plying his trade at the San Siro club AC Milan.

The quoted cost for Tomori is around 40 million Euros and has played on 127 occasions for the club. This season the former Londoner has totaled 20 appearances across all competitions and scored on five occasions.

Erik Ten Hag is facing a defensive crisis at Manchester United since the start of the season. Lisandro Martinez is still to play this season while Raphael Varane has been benched for the last few weeks. The Frenchman just made his comeback during the game versus Bayern Munich earlier this week.

Harry Maguire had injured himself during the game while Victor Lindelof has also been facing time on the sidelines. Luke Shaw who has been filling as a left center back has also been constantly battling niggles during the season.

Ahead of the trip to Liverpool it is expected that Varane is set to start, and Sofyan Ambrabat could play in the backline. Diego Dalot or Aaron Wan Bissaka will start on the right while Sergio Reguilon is set to play in the left back role. Manchester United head to Anfield in need of a win against the league leader who had beaten them 7-0 last year at the same venue.
