RECORD  deal for the club. Alexander Isak is set to become Newcastle’s record signing Alexander Isak, who recently scored for Real Sociedad in their 4 to 1 La Liga loss to Barcelona, joined Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund three years ago and has since scored 44 goals in 132 games. The striker has also scored nine goals in 37 games for Sweden.

Real Sociedad and Newcastle are in advanced negotiations for the £58 million transfer of striker Alexander Isak.

Newcastle’s sporting director Dan Ashworth and head of recruitment Steve Nickson are currently in Spain to try and finalize the transfer. The transaction would set a new club record for Newcastle, surpassing the £40 million they spent on Bruno Guimaraes in January from Lyon and Joelinton from Hoffenheim in 2019.

Isak joined Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2019 and has since scored 44 goals in 132 appearances, one of which came in Sunday’s 4-1 La Liga loss to Barcelona.

The 22-year-old has also scored nine goals in 37 appearances for Sweden, with his first coming at the age of just 17, making him the nation’s youngest goalscorer.

If Isak completes his move to St James’ Park, he will be Newcastle’s seventh permanent addition since the Saudi-backed consortium’s purchase last October and the club’s fourth signing of the summer, joining Sven Botman, Matt Targett, and Nick Pope.

Alexander Isak performed quite impressively, garnering such interest from outside. For La Liga 2021-22, Isak ranked 2nd in his team with 6 goals, 1st with 73 shots given, 4th with 2 assists which is not that bad. He is also 1st with 142 touches in the opposition box, and 88 take on attempts.

Meanwhile Pedro was the target of a £30 million proposal from Newcastle, Everton was also interested

Joao Pedro of Watford is another player Newcastle wants to get.

Newcastle want to sign Joao Pedro from Watford after making a second offer earlier this week. Newcastle is also interested in the forward.

With add ons, the bid is reportedly in the neighborhood of £30 million.

Pedro’s availability has also been sought after by Everton, however they have not yet presented Watford with a counteroffer. Eddie Howe, the head coach of Newcastle, downplays rumors that the team and Watford have agreed a deal for forward Joao Pedro.

In the Premier League 2021-22, per 90, Pedro ranked 1st in his team with 5.82 dribbles attempted, and 0.27 chances created. He also scored 0.16 goals, 0.26 expected goals, pero 90 still. At 9.18 duels won, he ranks 1st. All these with Watford.
